Faculty: Seventh Roadrunner Ensemble- Dr. Andrew O’Brien, piano; Dr. Katherine Shields, viola/violin. Joined by Christina Steffen, Flute and Maria Flurry, percussion.
FUN weekend workshop in historic Prescott, AZ (2 hours north of Phoenix) features great small ensemble music for piano, string, percussion, woodwind & brass players. No previous chamber music experience needed; separate youth (13-18) and adult (18-onwards) tracks are available. Adult learners group also available.
Ensemble skills are built in a relaxing, supportive atmosphere. Musicians play several pieces of different instrumentation, mailed in advance. They leave with new skills and repertoire ideas to explore over the coming year. Each participant receives 6 hours of professional faculty coaching, plus group-led rehearsal time. Preformed groups are welcome! Participants earn certificate for 15 Workshop Hours that can be used for AZDE Teaching Certificate renewal.
Chaparral Chamber Music Workshop culminates in a free, public Celebration Concert Sunday, June 1 at 3:15 pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Prescott, featuring faculty and student performances. Donations will be accepted.
The course fee includes 6 hours of coach-led sessions, ensemble rehearsal time, sheet music, clinics, Friday dinner, great experience and great fun!
Registration DEADLINE is April 15, 2025 at 11:59pm Arizona time.
Tuition is $240.00 thru March 25/ $275.00 from March 26-April 15. All registrations include $25 non-refundable registration fee. Those registering after April 15 will be placed as we are able. Pre-formed groups will be accepted after April 15 if space allows. Late registrations, please email for information before registering.
